MG has introduced the Maxus 7, the brand’s second electric MPV with seven seats priced at Bt1.769 million.

The Maxus 7 follows the larger Maxus 9 into the Thai market and comes with an introductory promotion worth Bt120,000 (includes free wallbox charger and installation) and deliveries are scheduled from July onwards.

In terms of exterior design, the Maxus comes with a Grille-less front end, powered sliding doors with hidden handles, panoramic sunroof.

The interior features a double-layer console, wireless charger, powered front seats with lumbar support, captain second-row seats, 12.3-inch touchscreen and dual-zone (front-rear) climate control system

In terms of performance, the electric motor generates up to 245 horsepower and 350Nm, while the 90kWh cell-to-pack lithium-ion battery provides a range of 570kms NEDC (450kms WLTP). Quick charging (120kWh maximum) from 30-80 per cent takes 30 minutes, while home charging (11kWh) takes eight hours from 5-100 per cent.

There is V2L, allowing owners to power electrical equipment as well as charge other electric cars.

The Maxus 7 gets a 5-star crash test rating from Euro NCAP and ANCAP. There is plenty of safety features too.

MG displayed the Maxus 7 at the recent Bangkok International Motor Show and 300 customers have shown interest. The company plans to sell 1,500 units of this model during the remaining of 2024.
