OMODA & JAECOO, brands from Chery Automobile, revealed the group’s accomplishments in 2024 and its growth plans in Thailand spearheaded by commencement of local production.

In 2024, the Chery Group achieved a 50-percent of growth in revenue and 38-percent increase in sales after delivering 2.6 million vehicles worldwide, the company stated in a press release.

According to the release, the group has reigned as China’s top exporter in the category of automobile for 22 consecutive years. Despite its recent inception two years ago, a subsidiary brand like OMODA & JAECOO is now being recognized as ‘The Fastest International Growth Car Brand’ with a skyrocketing increase in global sales of 54 percent.

Chery exported more than 1.1 million vehicles in 2023, growing by 21.4 per cent while sales of OMODA & JAECOO reached 250,000 units worldwide.

Up to date OMODA & JAECOO have been introduced in 33 countries including Kazakhstan, Chile, Mexico, Spain, Vietnam, South Africa, New Zealand, the Netherlands as well as Thailand.

Introduction of New Models and Groundwork for a Production Facility in Thailand

OMODA & JAECOO is preparing to unveil new models that are catered to meet demands of various customer groups. To match with evolving demands in global automotive market, the core engine technology for 2025 will be the Super Hybrid System (SHS), which is developed by OMODA & JAECOO based on Chery Automobile’s third-generation hybrid engine.

It comprises of three core components namely a fifth-generation 1.5 TDGI engine, a super electric hybrid DHT system and a high-performance battery. The engine setup ensures fuel efficiency and longer estimated range, better thermal efficiency, lower carbon emission and a highly-secured battery system.

This year, OMODA & JAECOO plans to introduce a large number of New Energy Vehicle (NEV) models across all key engine technologies particularly BEVs and PHEVs. The entire lineup is going to be on display at the upcoming Bangkok International Motor Show in March.

In terms of local production, an assembly facility is being established in Rayong province and production is expected to commence in the 2nd quarter of this year.

Expand Showrooms to 50, with Full-Fledge Aftersales

Another important goal of OMODA & JAECOO is to expand its sales network. By the end of 2025, the number of authorized distributors nationwide is expected to increase from 23 to 50.

Meanwhile, aftersales capability will also be elevated to match with the expansion plan. A partnership with DHL Express is now formed to support a three-day international parts shipment. Parts warehouse will be expanded to maximize service efficiency and reduce lead time required for urgent parts shipment from manufacturers in China by half (from 30 to 15 days).

Moreover, every showroom will also be incorporated with certified body and paint centers by the end of this year while a new and complete training center will be operational in February.

Qi said online service booking is available to smoothen the after-sales process and customers can also request courtesy cars if their vehicle need more than three days to be serviced. Customers can also request nationwide complimentary 24/7 roadside service for as long as five years.
